Lifetime of Love & Almost Home

Lifetime of Love (Love Poem)

Long were the days

I lived in a haze

Where my love was true

The days when I loved you

Short were the months

Learning our different strengths

I longed to be in your arms

And wonder at your charms

Many were the years

Where your words reached my ears

When our kisses were sweet

And they make our hearts beat

Gone is the lifetime

Where you were mine

In my heart there an empty space

That longs for your warm embrace

Almost Home (Sea Chant)

We’ve sailed home

From a long trip

My hair hasn’t seen a comb

And it needs a snip

But my darlin’

She’s a waitin’ for me

Yeah I can see her smilin’

While staring at the sea

Almost home

Almost home

The ship is anchored

And we’re coming home

Hey guys!

Today’s post was two poems/songs from my NaNoWriMo book Sorrow’s Blade. The first is a classic Love Ballad with a sad twist and then the last is a sea chant that many seamen use. The truth is I’m trying to focus on the story so I’m using this as my post. I really wanted to share a snippet of the story without giving anything away. 😀 Believe me I’ll share it with you but I really want this to be my first full novel. I love the characters and feel of it and as I write more and more about it and the characters are revealed to me.

I just want to thank you all for your support lately, I really appreciate all the likes and comments on my recent posts!

You are all awesome!
